where to buy SYE

actually if ya look at a used shaft u can see where the end of the slip has been riding cause it will be cleaner when ya pull it out and you can see the wear spot.well its where it has been exposed to the elements and can kinda judge youre running length from that

Ask what country the T-case output shaft is made in. A lot of cheap China shafts are floating around and the heat treating only penetrates 2 mm. You can see it on the broken shaft.

As far as I know, no one's breaking the PORC stuff any more than other kits. At least not on a percentage basis.

For a driveshaft, worst case is you get any front shaft, then take it to a driveline shop and have it lengthened or shortened. This cost me $80 including balancing.

Has anyone run the Rubicon Express SYE? 87.99 on their website... Are other companies supplying needed parts that RE isn't or is RE just much cheaper somehow?

RE is what I have. Bought it and the lift at same time. They asked the length of the OEM D/S from cross to cross and shipped everything I needed. Sorry can't remember the price. BTW mine was 30.5" in length on the original shaft.

i bought a brand new slipyoke from a guy on ebay that was used on the older corvettes , just cut 2 inches off of the yoke , it has to be a 1310 yoke with no threads on the universal side and 27 spliner . just cut the output shaft so that the yoke fits almost up to the end of the yoke and tap a 5/16 hole and bolt it on . i used a xj front shaft with 6.5 inches of lift and it was plenty long and have had zero probs and zero vibes from the back.the hole thing cost only 50 bucks shipped . guy on ebay only sells slip yoke and the like , i just asked if he had the older corvette style one and he found it for me . wish i had a link for you but get on ebay and ask some questions to the sellers and you might find one . i do know that the have some for 165 buy it now , but screw that . good luck .

I am waiting on my Super short SYE from PORC to get here!!! Its on sale for $199.00 right now. I will be using a front XJ DS as well, but used an offset ujoint to connect the stock 8.8 flange to. It came off of the Exploder that I got the 8.8 from. Now I have to try to convert to a later model electronic Speedometer now that the Super Short SYE will use the tone ring.

I'm running the PORC SYE with an AX-15 and Chrysler rear axle with a Powertrax No-Slip. I used a front shaft from an auto XJ and had it lengthened at a local shop (I think it's about 3 inches longer). The shop replaced the whole tube and it's balanced perfectly, no vibes, for a 100 bucks.

Tom Woods makes great stuff, I "fixed" my other Jeep using his stuff. This time I wanted to do it myself and tried to source all the parts locally when possible. For the cost of the SYE, a few 1310 u-joints, and some tubing it worked out really well. I still have to carry two different shafts as spares but oh well.

Jesse at High Angle Driveline is great to deal with. He does incredible work and his customer service is A-1.
