wheel spacer weld?

Ok I know I need a wheel spacer for my front 30 while I build the new front. The new front will definately take a while, o I need to spread out my front for the new wheels to match up with the rear.
From what I have read, and searched, wheel spacers must be maintained monthly if not more for torque.
My question is this, can they be welded to the hub? Thus ending any chance of them moving around.

well. You couldnt weld it to the hub, because the spacer had to go on the outside of the disk so the disk matches with the caliper. Most disc brakes are cast so you wouldnt want to weld to that. If you had steel discs i guess that you could but i wouldnt, when you weld you create small stress's and personally id hate to have a disk come apart on the road. So personally i wouldnt do it but i guess your could. If you use locktite red they will stay tight.

Aren't most spacers aluminum? Won't weld if that's the case. Also, if it's a larger diameter than the hub, you can't get the rotor off. Chance of warpage too....

Just lock tite them and torque them down to the 100ft lb range.

Or run with out them. What are you going to e, 1.5 inches narrower in the front. (Assuming you have changed rear axle and are just trying to spread the front WMS out)

the rear is now 63"wms with the 14b, so I just wanted to push out the front a bit. I dont really care what i do to my 30 while I build the full width new one. The only investment I have in the 30 is some 4.56 gears and a tru-trac.

I run spacers all the way around to keep my H1 rims out of things. I've never had a problem with them looseing even when it was a DD. I just made sure it was torqued down correctly and check it every time I have the rims off. I've never had them be loose. You could locktight them if you are worried. If mine was still on the street I probably would.
