I have a 97 cherokee and a brand new set of 16" tires. The 16" wheels that I have are 5 0n 5 and I either need to find a set of 5 on 4.5 x 16" or buy a set of adapters. Any recomendations? Are adapters reliable and will they create balance issues? Thanks!!

rubicon "moab" wheels look tits...

wheel spacers are golden and dont cause issues...as long as you buy good ones

XJs came with these rims in 16", also used on the Liberty.

The lib steel wheels are probably the most common Jeep 16" wheel in the 5x4.5 pattern, and arguably the ugliest. You could probably score a set of those for less than the cost of even used spacers- if you aren't in a hurry, you could probably even get alloys that cheap. I saw a set of the Icons, painted black, selling for $80 on another forum. I paid 200 for my set, but I was sick of steel wheels.

Is the Jeep lifted? 245/75s on 16x7 wheels is a lot of tire compared to the stock setup. It's a little snug at 2" even, but aside from rubbing the LCA at full lock, isn't bad. No flare-related violence or strange noises otherwise.

If you looking for something cheap check your local J/Y. Ranger,Explorer,Mustang wheels are interchangeable I have a set of 1995 Mustang GT wheels (also known as Pony wheels) on mine. They are 16's and look alright to me and they are 7.5 inches wide and that helps keep tire from rubbing a lot almost have to go to full lock before it rubs.

IMO moabs are the best looking 16s jeep has made

here they are on my hoopty with some shat tires

horrible pic i know but you get the idea

iam looking at getting new wheels and tires, Iam thinkin iam gonna get black soft 8 wheels 15x8 with 4" back spacing but Iam still trying to figure out what tires to run, I need/want a aggresive tire somewhere between a 29 and 30x10.50x15

As far as factory Jeep wheels go, I think the ones I've got on my '99 are my favorite. They were a dealer option only, not a factory package wheel. Second, I'd have to pick the ones Talyn posted in #5. Moabs are cool, but overdone as everyone has them.

I think they are 15"- I've seen a couple of Jeeps with them (96 and down, IINM), and listed on a wheel refurb site. I believe I've seen the same wheel on some DCP shortbuses and a car or two as well (makes sense if it was a dealer option).

In a pinch, Dodge intrepid wheels usually come in 16" and bolt directally onto a jeep cherokee, and as long as the tires are not extra wide, will fit just fine.
