What is this?

there is a 1/2" round x 1 1/2" cilynder I believe it to be a relay that has 3 electrical connections coming from it. it is spliced into the harrness next to the intermintant wiper black box and the cruise box under on the lower dash panel? When I removed it it was quite hot. MY lady threw it away by mistake while I was out of town LOL

Sounds like a blinker or hazard relay.

Edit: Actually, I just went and looked and I cant find what you're taking about. Too bad she threw it away, it would really help with a picture.

actually its only on my 95 xj its not on any of the 3 earlier models I have here
