Buy a factory gas cap. Really. Just do it.
If you don't want to spend the $18, you are probably wasting time or money.

I bought a little smoke machine and in the end only needed a gas cap...

Now that surprises me a little. Thought it was just the small leak, P0456, that a gas cap could take care of.
