What do you use, and what are the advantages?

Links to the programs?

Commercial version of Dyno2000 v3.10 by Motion Software. It's not bad, but it does seem to be a bit optomistic at times.

Hopefully, I'll be able to switch over to Dynomation by Audie Technology - Greg Friedman at Strokers sings its praises (he's got a copy) and they make a few other things I'd like to play with...

There's a good book on the subject - _Desktop Dynos_ by Larry Atherton. It's focussed on Desktop Dyno, since that's the programme he wrote.

Thanks for the links. I know Greg likes his program, but it may be too extensive (it may need too much accurate data) for the quick modeling I expect to perform. I don't think I need the +- 5% accuracy.

90% of what I will be modeling will be AMC six and old style SBC/BBC.

If you want, hit me backchannel and we can arrange my running the sims for you. I'll let you know what data are needed, and you can see if the reports you get will fill your needs.

I used Dyno2K pretty extensively while I was drafing out my book, and it's still seeing some use as I revise and update. I'll be getting a new computer in this week, so if you're not in a hurry it would help (this desktop dinosaur is getting tired, and I need something that can run Doom III anyhow!) I'm just waiting for IBM to ship.
