Depends on the venue. I tend to stay away from places that serve gaggy beer.

Short depth of field will get the label nicely in focus and fuzz out everything else. Sounds to me that more than anything that he knows how to use his equipment.

Had an interesting brew tonight from Odell Brewing (Fort Collins, CO.) Shenanigans oak-aged crimson ale. It's not something that I'll drink often but it certainly was worth a try. Don't try it if you don't like Brettanomyces or Belgians.

Nah, it's selective blurring. Shallow depth of field wouldn't show the distant background sharp on either side of the bottle.
