What if the tire hit the back fender during that first 4 inches of up travel while turning left?

if you really want to use as much travel as your rig is capable of, you have to do some serious trimming. it's kind of scary at first, but once you trim and there's no going back, it's liberating lol
with as gung ho as you seem to be on your jeep i suspect you'll be trimming before long anyways. as for the inner fenders, i just hammer over the pinch seam in there. that keeps the sharp edges away from the tires, and rubbing doesnt seem to bother much after that.
