What a day

Rolled out the house at 7am and headed for Cabelas new store for some needed stuff. Got there at 0800 and it was already busy, by the time my son picked out his new boots, pack and other sundry stuff it was 1100 and the store was MOBBED. This place is the size of a good sized shopping mall and they should have made it bigger. By the time we left the traffic was already backed up on to Rt78.
Noticed that they carry Norma ammo, had a box of 458 winchester mag for $128.00 a box of 20 rounds, whew....glad I don't hunt elephant any more :D

went to best buy to pick up some HD's on sale. Get there at 6 am (when they open) and there is a 45 mins line waiting outside. Once I get inside, ALL sale HD's are gone, along with most other really great buys. Then we waited another 1 1/2 in a checkout line that snaked through the entire store :(

Most of our X-mas shopping was already done before the "mob days" of shopping. Yet,my wife still insisted on going shopping the day after turkey day for the "sales". I thought "Screw that! I'd rather just spend a little more money later than get into all that crap!" So,she went shopping, and I stayed home and watched American Thunder on Speed Channel all day. Boy I tell ya! That Michelle Smith is one helluva looker

I hate shopping during normal times, no way I could stand the hoilday mobs. My time is worth more than the aggravation. It's amazing what people will put up with for a ten dollar trinket or the CHANCE at getting the latest "must have" item (which is usually way understocked). In many cases if people wait a week before Christmas they can get the same or even better bargins as things get marked down. Humbug! TC

Newspaper had an article that Cabela's was exploring a site nearby. I hope they pull off the deal. I'd love to have a Cabela's to shop at.

A friend at work who recently got married had purchased some Spyderco knives as presents to his groomsmen. He had a few extra. I bought my Christmas present to me from him. I haven't a clue what to get for my wife. I don't think I'll find it at a sporting goods store or at 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers though.

LOL The 'family' skipped my birthday last year, so I foiled that with No Presents For Anybody... No tree, no stockings, no silly little decorations, nothing. No Christmas Allowed. If they did among themselves it was done out of my sight...

Boy I was on the "B" list for awhile, but I think I did them a favor in showing them to appreciate what we do have (health, shelter, food, family) & not be greed stricken over some ridiculous commercial spendgasm. I only wish I could get away with that again this year.

No kidding Woody. I like Christmas, commercialized or not. I don't like shopping though.

Friday we let the women shop with the crowds and dad and I went hunting. :)

You all went hunting. Just different prey for each gender :anon:

Man, the only way to go Christmas shopping is to wait till 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning and go to WallMart, ain't nobody out shopping at that time, really easy way to do it and you get like 10 sales people running around the store getting stuff for ya
