Since Fergie posted in another thread that he will be in the area on the weekend of August 3rd-5th and would like to meet up with some folks, I want to see how many people would be interested, and which day.

Restaurant suggestions would be either El Torrito (at Fisherman's Village), or CPK in Marina del Rey.

I guess either Friday or Saturday evening would work.

Please state your preferences! :D

I'm still trying to think, but with most of them, parking is the issue. Fisherman's Village has several huge parking lots and CPK is at the "Waterside" shopping center, with plenty of outdoor parking too.

There are a few non-chain restaurants at Fisherman's Village, but I know that at least two of them are pretty terrible when it comes to service as well as quality of the food, and Shanghai Red's is fairly expensive (entrees $20 and up).

I prefer El Tarasco over near the Venice Pier, but not much parking there (other than the pay to park area right at the pier)

If I'm in town I'll try to make it.

I was just talking to a co-worker about outdoor grill last week, i'm up for it!

I'll probably show. I'll most likely be late dur to the fact that I'll have to go south bound on the 405, during rush hour. All we really need is a big parking lot and good food.

Here's the alternative location:

Outdoor Grill

Menu

Better food than either CPK or El Torrito, and a little less out of the way for the folks who need to take a freeway.

it's right next to the Handy J Car Wash, which closes at 5 pm, so parking is not an issue.

Outdoor Grill is very easy to get to - it's right where Washington Boulevard and Washington Place meet when driving west. There's a large parking lot used by the car wash during the day, available for Outdoor Grill parking in the evening. The food is excellent and relatively inexpensive.

If driving south on the 405 you would exit at the Washington/Culver exit and turn right (onto Sawtelle Blvd.) then an immediate left onto Washington Blvd. You'll hit Outdoor Grill on your right at the fifth light. Parking is around the side on the Washington Place side.

If driving north on the 405 you would exit at the Venice/Washington exit and turn right (onto Sepulveda Blvd.) then turn right at the next street (Washington Place), go under the freeway, then you'll reach Outdoor Grill on the left just before the sixth light.
