I had a blast! The trails were not too technical but with the rain there were some challenging stair steps and stacks to get over. The XK guys are not afraid to wheel their 40K rigs!

We had a great time running the trails in the GWNF/Reddish Knob area.

I didn't get many action shots but some of them did, I'll post them when I can. Here is what I have;

We found this old "dry stack" cabin along one of the trails, the story is it was built at the turn of the century by a soldier that defected from the US military. He hid out there until he died.

The drive home! You gotta love 4.88 gears and 35" tires, she cruises nice!!!

Even with the stock speedo gear, the speedo is only off 1mph at 65mph according to both GPS units in my rig.

Don't you have a Commander?

I like the burgundy one the best.

Nice.

4.88's? dang! i thought mine was low at 4.56 but then again you're prolly running an aw4 instead of an ax15.

i run about 3500 rpm at 65

looks like Edav finally found a group he can wheel with. :) :)

I've got the Libby and the XJ. I'm itchin to put a small lift and some 31s on the Libby but I've been able to hold out so far. Maybe I can keep it nice looking. lol

With no more lift than those guys have you should have been able to run circles around them.

I remember back when 40 billion Hummers came to our local park. Most of them had no lift. I had no problem climbing circles around all of those guys.

Looks like a fun ride tho.

Yep it was a easy day but a fun time with no damage. It was nice to go back to the roots of off-roading and just having fun without beating the crap out of the rig. I ran all off the trails in 2-low and still connected/aired up.

One exception was this stack, I locked in here.

You see what I'm tacking at 65, slightly over 2k in OD. I'm getting 19-20 mpg on the highway.

Who is Edav?

Hey I recognize those pics! I wheeled my XK a few times and decided I needed a dedicated trail rig. Picked up and XJ and hit the Badlands last week. Best decision I ever made.

Were you on CommanderForum? If so, the rigs in that pic belong to Sal, Cico, Romeo, Smitty, Crunchy and I can't remember the other one.

I bought my XK for towing my Heep and traveling, i don't intend on lifting it or wheeling it. We have 5 XJ's, a JK and the XK so I have other choices in the driveway to beat on than my "4wd sofa"

He don't need no spotter! :D

LOL! I didn't have the heart to tell those guys that I ran the trail in 2-low/connected/aired up to 35psi. I did drop into 4-low for that section but honestly it would have been more fun in 2-low. That section of the trail is like the easy sections of the trails I run but I had fun anyway just bouncing around in the woods, got me back to the roots of "off-roading". It was kinda nice to get home with no damage for once. My Heep has taken some hits wheelin this summer.
