Mother in Law calls last night and says all of the gauges in her 1998 quit working. ABS light is on and everything is driving fine but none of the gauges are showing anything.

I'm hoping that it is just a bad connection on the back of the gauge cluster. I did some light searching last night and that seems to be the first thing to look at. I hope it isn't anything more than that.

Fun, fun, fun.

Yup. Remove the cluster, clean the contact, apply some di-electric grease, re-install cluster.

It'll probably happen again later on. Hell, mine come back to life on their own after I shut the Jeep off...still can't figure that one out...

I guess I posted in the wrong thread.

I did what you guys suggested so we will see how it goes.

It was interesting taking apart the dash of the later 1998. You have to know what pops apart and where the screws are.

It takes a little time figuring the dash out, but once you do its not that bad...

Yep. Taking it apart for the first time is the hardest part.

Good news is she drove it all weekend and the gauges are still working (knock on wood).
