Well time to look into new long arms... Need some RRC opinions

I am fixing to pay off my credit card soon. Meaning it will be time to get in debt again! yay!

I daily drive my jeep with 4.56s lockers 35s and teraflex long arms. A couple things need changing. I'll make a good and bad list for yall lol.

The Good
Gears are perfect
Lockers are perfect
35" MTZs are perfect

The Bad
1.) Teraflex long arms suck
2.) I dont have alloy axle shafts
3.) Lack of a belly skid

Well the first thing I was planning on fixing is the long arm issue. I have narrowed it down to 2 different kits. The rockkrawler kit is great because the 3 link is super nice; however it does not come with a belly skid. The TNT kit is what I am really leaning towards. It comes with the belly skid and I love love love the way the arms are mounted above the skid. I dont totally dig the radius arm set up, and the only reason for this is my friends with buggys are always talking about how radius arms suck.

What are yalls opinions on the TNT kit vs. the RockKrawler kit?

Another question, should I just run the teraflex kit and upgrade to alloys first?

what rear are you runnin on the 35's? how much of a belly skid are you wantin? if you clock your tc and ou can do somethin sim to a belly up but it all have to be custom but not hard. i have seen the fronts hold up to bigger than 35 with lockers and no alloy shafts. i have seen more ring gears break than the axles.

Ive got the rock krawler kit sitting in my garage, and if I don't sell it soon I'm thinking about putting the three link on my jeep but building a custom crossmember to use instead of the RK brackets.

i've got a 29 spline 8.25 with a powertrax no-slip locker... not too worried about the rear end... plus alloys for the rear are super cheap compared to the alloys for the dana 30

what kit are you running now?

Short arms with drop brackets..... Really have no complaints on my current setup, but I already have the RK kit so I might as well put it to use.

I've been running the rockkrawler kit for 2 years now. I love it and I hate it. Allow me to lay it out for you.

Good
1. It flexes LIKE MAD! my shocks are STILL too short!
2. on road ride is smooth, even with Rough Country shocks.
3. Pure Farkin BEEF. Solid stock arms!

Bad.
1. required me to cut off LCA brackets. (extreme PITA and no way to return to stock)
2. Had to weld it to the body.
3. jeep now "dives" to the passenger side when braking.
4. Clunk clunk ...clunk...clunk clunk...
5. upper control arm mount. crowded position, I overtightened the bolts holding it on and crushed the frame a little bit (very easy to do) and it still shifts around just a bit. ( I'm hesitant to weld it on, all I have available is stick welder and waving that around with a fuel line and brake lines right there doesn't seem like a swell idea.)
6. The mounts don't allow for me to install my JCR rock rails. They've been sitting in my shed for a year and a half waiting on me to afford a torch so I can cut off the JCR bracket and weld the rail onto the 3-link bracket. Something I can easily do, but have to have the tools to complete.

Honestly I've wanted the TNT, but it was just too spensive. I think the Radius arms would serve me better on the road ( no dive), the belly pan is kick ass, and they flex damn good.

Since I am building a custom crossmember to include my 3 link mounts, I have been toying with the idea of getting another top link, and working it into a 4 link instead. Just a thought for now, haven't really gotten into any research on it yet, since my XJ isn't around for me to toy with right now.

wanna sell the brackets?

I may be willing to sell the brackets, but what good are the brackets without the arms?

To be honest, i am not at all unhappy with my short arms. I have thought about moving my brackets up when i swap to 44's like you did on yours. However, I already have this kit, and if I can't at least sell it for what I have in it, then I may as well install it on my rig.

i'm shocked at how many people love the drop brackets for their jeeps... no offense but i always thought that was kind of a ghetto way around the problem, but i see that you actually wheel yours x2elite and they seem to work great for you

As far as upgrading the long arms, I am 99% set on the TNT kit. Thinking of doing the tnt unibody stiffeners and the long arm upgrade all at the same time. Probably going to happen in mid january.

anyone want a teraflex kit for cheap? i'll take 150 for it

What does the Teraflex kit consist of? I may be interested.

Also I wheel the crap outta mine, and so do a lot of other people I know with the drop brackets, and I haven't ever heard anyone that has a set talk bad about them. A lot of people talk about the ground clearance loss, but I have never had mine hang me up on anything.

its just lowers... i have rustys uppers that mount to the stock location.

here are some pics when i was putting the lift on... i have heard of people modifying the teraflex kit into a radius arm kit, but i'm not even gonna mess with it

shoot ill take it for 150 consider them sold. lol seriously.....

but tnt seems to be good. i dont have either so i dont know but they seem to be good.

well i had to cut out this chunk off from the mounts so my sliders would fit... i plan on doing the tnt kit in mid january... if you are still interested i'll give them to ya for 150, and if you want the rustys upper arms (for a 6.5 inch lift) i'll do the whole package for 175

here is a pic of what i cut off the mount... i cut where i put the red lines
