Think I am going to try and pick up an aftermarket electric temp gauge with sensor tomorrow and swap out the stock sender in head and see if that reads accurately.
The senders go bad often. I have bought 3 in a row that were defective. Better luck with Mopar branded or Standard brand, but even those have been bad out of the box

I stopped trying to find a good one, I just re-calibrated my dash gauge with a crayon LOL. One of mine reads about 40 F too low, the other about 60 F too low.
