welding school/programs

hey all,
im finally tryin to finish my lil conversion project on the heep, but i hit a snag....i dont have a welder :doh:....soooo, i have read some posts that claim some schools with welding programs take individual projects and work on them to give the students experience....does anyone know of anywhere in the San Antonio area that does this?

I don't know of any... but if you wanna come on over to the Houston area, I am sure magimerlin and I can take care of the welding for you.

If you can get to Waco, come on. I'm sure there are some folks around S.A. that can help out. What are you welding, I may be around Leon Springs the 26th,if I can hit it with a 110v wire feed I may be able to help.

i chopped the top and wanna close it in with an mj rear window, and then the side panels in the rear. i havent gone and chopped up the mj yet, but its on my list of to do as soon as the holidays are over. i dont know how long the actual welding process would be, but i figured most of the time would be spent on the prep, metal fab, fitting and whatnot which i would have done beforehand. but obviously im not a professional so i could be wrong.
