Sierra club munchkins knocked my door today, looking for members/donations. Of course I politely :twak: told them they were hurting the environment by not managing it, etc. I could tell they weren't really commited so I had to ask if they were volunteers, turns out they were being Paid!

yeh theres a add in the SacBee lookin for help,lol....

The only way to beat the Sierra Club is to get our act together and vote them down. The only way to do this is to join the Sierra Club and vote the way we want things to go. We could take control of the Sierra Club if we got our act together

The problem is that will never happen. Anyone here ever go to a Sierra Club meeting? I have.... and you should! Dont join, dont pay any money, just go. While you are there, look around at the people who are there. Count how many have tank tops or tee shirts on. How many are wearing their hat backward, or a hat at all. If you find any of these you will be able to count them on one hand very easily. When in the parking lot look for bumper stickers that say something like "Off Roaders Suck" or "4x4's go drive to hell" or....well you get the point

Now go to ANY function that is attended by off roaders. Don't even bother counting..... Now look for bumper stickers on the trucks outside. You will find gems like "Sierra Club sucks" and "Sierra Club go hike to hell!" GUARENTEED!

Now, ask yourself, "If I didn't know anything about off roading, or 4 wheeling or whatever you want to call it, and I was observing these two groups, which would you lean toward supporting? Now take this seriously and approach it objectively and most would have a hard time just jumping to support off roaders.

I am not telling anyone to turn their hat around, or even take it off while indoors. I am not telling anyone how to dress. I dont care what you do in that regard. I am meerly suggesting that we think a little before we act. And if we dont change our act, we will be walking the Rubicon.
