I'm torn between the two.
I have access to a full body shop... The Warrior would get a satin/flat black paintjob with black chrome pipes, so picture it as such. The CBR would get a flat black and flat dark grey paintjob with a black chrome pipe, so picture it as such.

But I'd replace those ugly stock pipes with ones like this one. If I get a Warrior, it'd look a lot like the one in that pic but flat black with black chrome, and a little lower with a fatter rear tire.

two completely different realms of riding.
you are basically asking: rock crawler or jeepspeed
it doesnt work like that. YOU need to decide which style of riding you want to do, have you sat on either of the bikes, or any other bikes for that matter? if so, have ya given a good amount of riding on any of them, looks and sex appeal isnt the only aspect to buying a motorcycle, the best bike is the one that suits your needs and wants while being the most comfortable and therefor best for you to ride. you can have the most technologically advanced bike with the most sex appeal in the world, but if you dont feel right on it, dont have any confidence in yourself on the bike, or know how to use it, you are just an asshole on a really cool bike...

dont be that guy

do you have your endorsement?

I know they're two very different styles... that's why its hard for me to choose. I've sat on both before and they're both comfortable for me, but I don't have more than a dozen miles or so on either.
SO... I'm asking NAXJA what people's opinions are on them (you're pretty much the only guy in our chapter that really knows his chit about these, but you're a crotch rocket guy and I want opinions about both).

why would someone put a fart cannon on that damn yamaha

That's the stock exhaust. Dunno WTF they were thinking back at the factory, but that's how they come.
But like I said, it'd get pipes like the ones in the picture, so no worries.

Yeah, I said the same thing the first time I saw the Road Star Warrior. One of the guys at work got rid of a full on custom chopper and started a build of a Warrior. Getting rid of that rediculous fart can was his first modification. I gotta tell you, it's one of the sickest bikes I've seen. Doesn't even look much like a Warrior anymore, but I really like the stance, the frame set up, just the overall look of a tricked out Warrior.

And I don't even ride....... :D

but something has to be said for 16k rpm, 120hp at the wheel (if built a bit) and some marchesini wheels :D

and ya cant do this at 110 on a warrior

If I get the Warrior, which is what I'm leaning toward (partly cause its A LOT closer than the CBR), it'll either have the Raider style pipes like in this first pic, or the swept pipes in the second pic (and yeah, that second pic is a Warrior, just lowered with a custom fattail)...

But aren't you shipping out soon? That Warrior is sweet, but I'd rather have $$$ collecting interest, than a bike collecting dust.

get the crotch rocket. they're a WHOLE lot more fun, and handle and stop better, thus making the actual bike much safer. i've had both kinds, and only ever came close to wrecking on the cruiser style bike, which turned into a full blown beef jerkey fest on the whole right side of my body-just last week!
i've ridden the RR, and the warrior, and i'd choose the cbr 100 out of 100 times. the only thing i'd choose over it would be a cbr 1000 RR.
also look into the suzuki and yamaha crotch rockets. they're all great!

mason, you (or 90% of riders) but especially you new to the bike thing do not need a litre bike, nor will you ever need a litre bike. if ya actually learn how to ride the damn thing you will realize a 600 is just as capable and easier to ride than the 1000

He's gotta be able to get to/from work and such in the mean time.

@Mason:
Get the CBR (the one w/28 miles on it), then find someone who will show you how to handle it when the front wheel comes off the ground. It's going to at some point, might as well be prepared for it. Could be a nasty surprise if you're not.

@kujito, im thinkin he needs to buy a beater DD til he lives, he does not have his endorsement yet and therefor neither bike should be in his possession because it doesnt seem like he has much if any practical motorcylce experience on the streets...

nothing against ya mason, but a lot can go wrong before you ship out on something you know nothing about...just get a beater for a grand and chill till you are back

WHat happened to the Super Duty? Can't you DD that til shipping out? Are you shipping out to boot camp or overseas? Either way, wait til you get back. You'll have more money then and can afford to be more picky.

x2!!! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

it's nice to have the money "on hand" while being picky ;)
