Recap

So spring 2012 I bought an 84 XJ Wagoneer with 108k on the clock for 50 bucks.
2.5L w/ carter carb
Ax5
NP207
D30/D35 w 4.10s/11s
Had a tiny defroster crack in the windshield, a couple of rust spots on the body(but unibody itself is decent), and the rear bumper was a chrome shell containing... Well nothing. I kicked it off after poking a hole through it with my finger. The water guage didnt(and doesn't) work, and the headliner was destroyed( and is). Other then that the interior was decent apart from the beige cloth and 80s orange leather, carpet, and trim combo. Dropped 700 to get her road worthy (car sat for 4 years so new brake hard lines and fuel lines etc). The only other thing that needed to be replaced was the clutch which was done this spring.
Drove her with the stock size tires till the beginning of winter, needed something with more tread so I bought a set of Canyons with decent metric 29s and stuffed them under the car. Drove fine and only rubbed with 4 in the car or on hard turns (against LCAs).
Rocked those tires till about February when I got pissed at being stuck on a patch of ice and found a crazy good deal on 4 new 31s (530$!)

However this rubbed much much worse and I could drive with my girlfriend only so I quickly purchased a 2" budget boost kit with 4 shocks for 200, and installed later that week. Also made a rear tube bumper but I don't have pics of that.

Still rubbed on bumps with 4 in the car and turns. Drove awesome though.
So I ran the 2" kit till about August, when my passenger leaf exploded, so I purchased 4" leafs off eBay and installed them, and ran the jeep funny
car style for about 2 months, with the plan of lifting the front to match. I kept the rear sway bar with extended links but planning on dlt soon.
Fast forward to October, and a set of 3.5" RE fronts, discos and brake lines arrive and With the help of 2 friends we got everything on, took it for a test drive.

No dice, death wobble from hell, it was literally so bad I thought I drove over my front axle the first time it happened. So I bought an adjustable iron rock track bar from one of said friends and installed later that weekend. Had difficulties aligning the axle with the track bar,
So a little redneck alignment

And so she sat. There's a little shimmying over hard bumps and the shocks may be over extended but those are getting replaced soon.

And a few months ago got a $50 bumper with hella fogs off Craigslist. A little wire brushing, a coat of gloss black to match the rear and a little wiring aaand

123k at the time.

So I attempted to replace my front D30 shafts, but failed epically and ended up rebuilding the original CV shafts.
Redid my headliner in November
Headliner as I got the car

Right after I did the headliner I replaced the shitty carter YFA with a Weber 32/36

Don't know how many extra horses I stuffed into that tiny 2.5 but she sure does move a lot better then before, sounds a lot better, and, the kicker,
I'm getting 30
Yes that's right, 30 miles per gallon in a lifted jeep. Awesomeness.

Shackle relocation brackets were installed 2 weeks ago. Since then I've moved them back one hole because the shackles were binding in the channels.

She sits nice now

And sure flexes a hell of a lot better

Also I installed a new thermostat housing and thermostat in an attempt to chase down my overcooling issues. They haven't helped but at least I know what temp I'm operating at now, with a sunpro temp voltmeter and oil pressure guage

doesent really matter. its up to you. alot of people make that mistake. think there's a way to change your forum setting to show threads further back. but I think searching is easier.

Sweet i had an 84 pioneer 2.5 4wd 4 door, ac, factory hitch, 5 speed 3.73s like 260k on the clock ran extremely smooth it was unreal. needed some work here and there engine would randomly shut off, i sold it recently for 250 bucks, just didnt have time to deal with it although i would have loved to make it a project.

those front seats are friggan awesome. do you have any more pictures of them?

I'm planning on cleaning her out tomorrow so I'll take pics haha.
Also recently got Bilstein 5100s, rides beautifully compared to the crap white tube noname shocks that were overextended.
Also in the market for new tires. My rears are turning into slicks. Thinking on 32 1050s if I can find them or sticking with 31s. Can't decide.

Ordered new tires to get rid if my rear slicks,
Hercules Trail Digger MTs in 31 10.50 15
Pretty pumped, I got stuck in my parents driveway in 4...
How humiliating.
Lack of funds prevent anything from advancing at the pace I'd like.
Planning a move soon so a lot of spare pennies are going towards that instead of the car.
But I'm planning on finding an 8.8 with an LSD and 4.10s to build during the spring/summer.
Other then that its pretty much gonna be aesthetics after I fix the floor pan.

that interior is so awesome. Its a wierd combination of 1970's and 80s styling.

you never see colors like that on the later years. its usually just tan or grey

I think it's probably the sheer tire-shredding power of the monster under the hood, really.

Absolutely. Me stalling when starting must mean that I was just spinning the tires too fast for the engine to keep up.
Anyways.
New tires are here, although now they're just taking up space in the car till I have the money to actually have them put on.
Yaaay!

Edit:
Just realized the pics of the slicks didn't work. Here's my rear two lol

So War Gin got her new shoes put on, they're great in the snow, not so much ice but whatever they're gonna be fine for me.
So on valentines day, went to work, got home got ready for a nice night out, me and the girl go out to the car and *grind-whirr CLICK*
Pause..... *CLICK*
No start. Solenoids working, tried jumping the starter to the battery....
*click*
So my starter died completely out of nowhere. Never had an issue with it ever before. Ordered in a new one, of course being that my jeep doesn't exist I have to wait 5 days. Got the new starter on Wednesday and she fired up like a charm. New starter is a little louder though.

So haven't been many updates sorry.
But washed the jeep today and got a 2k stereo for my new house and a np231 ( just for the front yoke, there's no slip yoke on it)
