So my 5spd took a dump this morning on the highway - sounds like a box of ball bearings, and NO power. I have never dug into a transmission, so I don't even have a mental picture of what is rattling around.

I am looking at (1) picking up a decent used tranny (any issues swapping a 93 into my 99, aside from internal/external slave?) or (2) picking up some cheap internals and rebuilding what I've got...?? issues??

share your wealth of knowledge!!

TIA, Chris:dunno:

OK -- not the tranny, appears to be the new-to-me t-case that I installed a few weeks ago (supposedly it had been recently rebuilt):gonnablow.

Odd though, I have no power in 2hi or 4hi, but 4low works fine... fortunately I didn't sell my old case yet (guy was supposed to pick it up tonight), so I will pull the "new" one, and build a complete working case out of the 2 I have, I guess...:dunno:

Aren't you glad it took forever to sell it? Now you can pull the sale and be saved!

Murphy's law................the man was a genius! ;)

Sorry to here about the "supposed' new T-case, wanna go find them and :twak: :smsoap: :eeks1:

yeah, I'm over my anger -- it did perform fine on Winding Stairs last week. I seriously had a guy stopping by to pick up my spare t-case to night, so I got lucky on that one! If anyone has a link to a good 231 scematic, PM it to me, since I am going to try and repair "in vehichle" for speed sake...

gracias, Frank!:wave1:
