Wanted: 97+ steering wheel

I am looking for a 97+ steering wheel with good leather on the wheel. I don't care if the air bag is gone or bad or if it has cruise controls or not. I just need the wheel itself with leather that is in good shape. Mine is old and dry-rotted and crumbling and I have searching my local pull-a-part for a year waiting for a good one to show up and have had no luck. If you have one laying around let me know.

I have one but Im not sure what wheel is in it as it is a base model... I don't think it has leather on the wheel.

If it is the SE odds are it is the rubber one. Check for stitching thats an easy way to tell

I supposedly have one coming... before that i had the same issue. Agla supposedly has a pattern for a recover kit but not cheap. I never sent him pics but will continue pursuing and recover my wheel if you would be willing to pay $200ish for one. SE is in fact rubber. My heep is an SE and i replaced the original wheel with one w/ bad leather because the original one had the foam come loose from the core which felt dangerous to me.

I have a spare I'm sending to Dallas Steering Wheel to get recovered. It's a little pricey but it's cheaper than a new one and when you use it everyday it makes up for it lol

I'm thinkin I may just have to find one in the junkyard that has enough material left on it that I can use as a pattern and just get some material from a fabric shop and re-wrap it myself. My mom is pretty good at sewing so I can get her to assist me. Just figured it would be easier to buy a used one in good shape.

Good luck with that... Have you ever tried to recover a wheel? I don't know anyone who has ever done it successfully. Even Matt says its not really doable and it look right and he sews everyday.

Not saying you wont be able to do it... but if it comes out nice you should post pics and maybe you'd be willing to do them for other people for a certain fee? I may have one to get done...
