Waint Input on Painting Doors and Weatherstripping

So I think I want to pull the doors off my 98 and paint them a textured flat black. Can anyone give me some advice and input. I am also having a really hard time finding new weatherstripping. Any input would be great!!!! Thanks

Prep is key to good paint, use a good brand of paint/ etching primer, and take your time. Are you planning on taking it down to bare metal?

TCP just google jeep chero weather striping ,lots of different optiond for w/s but not really cheap .

I wasnt planning on taking it down to bare metal except for where there is rust. I was thinking about hitting it all with some medium grit sandpaper thougj. As for the stripping I have been looking all over and cant seem to find the stuff for later than 96 any other ideas... do they make generic

I used their product for the pre-97 Cherokee, and it was as nice as OEM.

The weatherstrip for the doors will fit all years for the XJ. I've swapped late model stripping into early model with no problem. The rear hatch stripping for the late model is laid out differently but works in early model

I have a full set pulled from a late model. PM if you're interested.
