Wasnt sure where to post this. I ordered a 300AL(3" adda leaf kit) kit from Rustys online with credit card last monday evening. Paid $90 for the 3 day express shipping. Just got my lift yesterday(tuesday, over a week later). Very mad, I understand ya maybe a day to process order (tuesday) and ship out tuesday evening so I'd see it friday? Worst case ship out wendsday. I planned on having the lift for the weekend to do the install cause i work a million hours durning the week. So paid an ass load for 3 day shipping to get it over a week later. Should I be upset? So I come home, finally excited to look at it, new toys, love new toys. So I pick up the box with the add a leafs in it an one comes flying out. WTF? Huge hole in the box, I'm like sweet hopefully there was hardware in there that fell out. So this whole experiance has been a pain. My girl ordered me a 3" Rough Country lift last xmas by herself for my old XJ. Paid crap for shipping and was delievered quick an not beat to shit. Wanted to give Rustys a shot and will never deal with them again. I called them a couple times to ask about my order. 1 day they had no record of my order? Should I bitch to them an ask for some money back? Or have them send me something for my trouble? I might as well had just regular shipping put on it. I dont know how they run that place but I'm in the automotive field an when something is ordered from a person/shop/dealership we get right on it an out to that person asap. Esp if they want it overnighted, we dont need to wait a day to "process" there credit card? I'm just pissed I paid so much for 3 day "EXPRESS" shipping LOL. Jesus I wonder how long it would took to come to me with regular shipping. So I will never deal with again.

I would call them first and try to resolve this issue, before posting it up here. If they dont fix your problem, then post up.

As a general rule, NEVER order something online and use faster than ground shipping without calling to check stock. Chances are the wait was for something to come into stock, so you paid for fast shipping on a backordered item. It'd be nice if they informed you of that kind of stuff of course, but just about no company at all does unless you contact them.

As for the broken up packaging and what not, you can't really blame Rusty's for that. Thats the shipper. Every company deals with lost items. Myself I retail online and constantly deal with FedEx and UPS claims for items that have been busted open. My last one I actually had to file a complaint on the driver of the truck, as he was throwing the lift kit into the truck while the person it was being picked up from was standing there watching the packages break and pieces fell out.

Cliffnotes:
1. Call Rusty's and get a shipping claim started on the items right away and get them to ship out the pieces you're missing.
2. Request that your 3 day express took too long and see if they'll refund the difference from 3 day to ground, or maybe shipping cost altogether.
3. never order express ship without checking stock.

first off they are never gonna send u something for your trouble cuase 90% of the people that deal w/ them have issues like that i got my dif guards from them no problem but i have not heard to great of things when ordering lifts and other large things from them and w/ the quick shipping things get messed up but normlaly a company would atleast notify you about it

was it shipped UPS? I had an issue with my exhaust system when they shipped it UPS. UPS thought they'd set it aside and forget about it. Quick call to Rusty's and they were on the phone with UPS. I had my exhaust system the next day.

I guess I have been lucky when I dealt with them. I had a part break and they are willing to replace free of charge with the exception of my shipping back to them the broken piece. Did they say when the part left the warehouse? Did you get a tracking number?

ive ordered from them once or twice, i was not happy with the service either. after waiting at least 2 full weeks after placing an online order i called to check up and they had no record of the order or my payment, finally they found the order but said i had never paid, again that took some time for them to realize i did pay. so i keep waiting and waiting. i called again a couple weeks later to find out one of my items was backordered, i said ok great but what about the rest of it? so long story short it took like a month and a half to get half my order and then at least 3 months total to recieve the rest. i was very unhappy, not to mention the part i recieved half way through need extensive mods to even fit. overall i feel they are disorganized and do not have quality products. if your looking for something cheap and are willing to spend time to make it work then rustys is for you. thats my experience, others will vary.

NEVER had a problem with Rusty.

Call him, have him check on date shipped and see who dropped the ball on that.

If Rusty did not ship because of a backorder you should have been notified, and your shipping fee adjusted accordingly.

Rusty is a stand up guy and will most likely make things right with you, if given the chance. That said, you really should have investigated what happened and where before you bashed him here. They may have made a mistake...but your assuming they did without checking on it.

Thanks for all your responces guys. I'm not trying to bash him, just venting cause im upset. I work hard an dont have alotta money to blow an I get excited for new parts I work for, the extra money i wasted on 3 day shipping i coulda put towards the steering stablizer upgrade or something. I recieved no email with a tracking number like he said I'd get when I called, just aggrivating putting in order an him saying I dont see anything? How dont you see anything when I have an order number? Doing the lift in an hour, so hopefully everything goes smooth. I'll be posting pics tonight. I bet once shes sittin purty on my 31's Ill be happier.

Sorry to hear of you bad experience, it sounds a lot like my past with them, except the shipping delay. Granted living on this side of the border I expect a delay, but I never had one, no order took
more than a week, if I ordered by Wednesday it was there next Monday, Tuesday latest. But thats where it ends. My track bar broke, and they expected me to pay return shipping so they could fix it. Parts not being included with packages, and the tracking number problem was an issue with every order.
On the other side of things, when I talked to JKS (2 months ago) they didn't have any shock conversions in stock, so they gave me the name of a company that did, and told them to give me 10% discount. When installing the part the nut got stuck (cross threaded I guess) and I had to cut it off, ruining the part (2 days ago). Emailed JKS and they are express shipping a new one no cost to me. Even tho it wasn't their fault, no questions asked (other than address) and it should be here in 2 days.
I've heard good views of Rusty's and bad, without keeping exact count seems many more bad. One JKS experience, one hiccup and they redeem themselves even before I ask them too.

Don't waste any money on a SS upgrade. Use the money for quick disconnects or something else.

Cool, thanks for the tip. Well just finished the lift, went pretty smooth an very happy with the look. Looks bigger then 3"s LOL. Tires are very rough at low speeds. Only little shitty thing is we stripped the bolt an nut that holds the track bar in, its in an not going anywhere but now I have play in the steering wheel. Oh well I'll fix it this weekend with a new bolt. Other then that she looks badass. Ill take some pics tomorrow, it was dark when we finished. Love the ride too, i think my front struts were blow cause I had a very shitty ride before, felt like something was wasted in my front end when i hit a bump. Now its smooth, i love it. The kit was very easy to install, so I'll give Rustys that. Happy so far, true test will be this weekend. :eeks1:

Both of my XJ's have lifts from him and I've been really happy with the company. Having said that I am a fan and have supported him in a lot of threads on here where bashing was the intent...they have me a tad concerned today.

I ordered shackles and bumpstops on last Friday. Their estimated arrival date was yesterday. I really got concerned when I punched in the track # and got nothing. I called UPS and they said that the label was printed on Friday but they have yet to take possession of the package. Rustys says the bumpstops were on backorder but that they did send the shackles out. They also say that track numbers don't work through UPS quite often. Not sure what to think yet. No real sense in calling them back. I already told him what UPS said and he has his response and he very well may be telling the truth but that tracking system is pretty reliable...although it is computers so...I'm trying to stay hopeful.

just my 2 cents, I buy alot, and I mean alot of stuff off e-bay and use UPS alot. those tracking numbers are usually dead. I have had deliveries within minutes of there scheduled times.

I know...I can't say that I have ever had one of those things be off. Still optimistic though.

Probably shipping I had the same problem. I ordered some new goods online and had them express deliver it..

UPS could not find the address... not like it was very difficult.. being in NYC. number and number of street.
Usually and especially NY, UPS guys have only a small area to serve. sometimes only a few blocks.. Took three days for them to find the address. I had to call UPS and give directions... I feel your pain... talk about frustrating.
