vehiclelight.com screwed me, what can I do?

Yeah, I am. Getting used to a $45k pay cut in the house has its challenges.

Less than a year after 9/11 (in 2002) I lost my $85k a year computer job. Out of work for 11 months (single income family) then found a job for $40k a year. After 5 years I'm about 1/2 way back to that $85k.

Keep plugging away, it will get better.

Yowser. That's a heckuva pay cut. Mine is due to my girlfriend quitting her job to get her Master's. No big deal, just takes longer to work on the Jeep

Currently I'm over drawn and don't get my paycheck till tomorrow, and the worse thing is...I just had the bank take two other over draw fees off due to some other stupid stuff. Scott
So,actually. you already new you didnt have the money!!

No, I ran out of money a few days AFTER I made the purchase. And in response to what was asked earlier, I cancelled my card because the bank suggested to. He shipped me the item, according the the email, a day prior to me cancelling a card. I committed no fraud.

Either way, this thread was employed as a method for me to learn how to stop things like this from happening and for me to find out what I could do about my situation. If you have nothing more to say then, "your stupid" or "you screwed up" then don't bother...that helps nothing. Thank you to those who can understand my whole overdraft deal, and who understand why it is I'am angry with this company.

Don't buy things you don't intend to .. buy.

Don't spend more than you have.

I did intend to buy it, just change my mind the next day. And I THOUGHT I had the money, it was a mistake.

Lets see what the vendors side is,there is always 2 sides to a coin.Although,Muddy's version has more holes in it than a speaker grille!

What I've found to be useful, in using plastic, is to use my credit card for on-line or phone purchases, and the debit card for purchases in-person. That way, if something happens to an order, it is not directly tied to any of my accounts. And, if there's been fraud, the major card services will usually cover you. My wife works at a bank (BofA, by the way), and has no end of the stories of people playing games, and just generally being less that legit. If the author of this thread had used a credit instead of debit card, no overdraft would be possible. And, the overdraft protection benefits one party the most. The bank. Banks derive almost all their profit from fees. With the crummy interest rates, and general economic climate, there's no incentive to lend money in traditional channels. It's easier to whack people with service charges, because enough people incur them. And about switching banks, any establishment that would like to stay profitable will behave pretty much the same.
For a young person just starting out, a secured credit card is the way. When my son turned 18, he got one. The stipulation is to deposit the card's limit in a savings account. After a specified period of time, the card goes unsecured, and you regain access to the money. It gets you started with a credit rating pretty quick, and once you've got that, you can look forward to a mailbox full of 'pre-approved' offers.

Let me say. Someone paid to have those parts pulled, someone paid to have them packaged, someone paid to have them shipped. Now they all get screwed by some low life who cancels his credit card. nuf said.:flamemad:

And if the company had paid as close attention to their phone and e-mail as they do to their order line, they would've known not to pull the part, not to package it, and not to ship it. There were screw ups on both sides of the game. And based on the research (done after the fact - stupidly) he did, it sounds like it may have been a wise choice. We'll see if anything comes in the mail, and hopefully he does the right thing and sends it back.

My wife picked out the heep, I put it on my card. The dealer would not deliver title until the funds cleared. I suppose you will tell me the dealer broke the law by not processing the title right away.
