vehiclelight.com screwed me, what can I do?

Roger that. :D

If you wanna get together and chat camera crap sometime, I can have my accountant wife show you how to use a check register. :D
WOW, did he just try to make a date?:flame:I'm thinking toy trains & imitation crabmeat will be involved.

Get with me back channel. Do you think I'm wrong for you not having the $?
Do you think I'm wrong because the customer service was bad?
Do you think I'm wrong about you canceling card, giving them no way to recoup THEIR expences?
Do you thing I'm wrong about YOU should have checked on them in advance?
Do you thing I'm wrong about involving the BBB.
I think you're (correct usage of your/you're;)) wrong for jumping all over the kid because he's shipping it back after trying for nearly a week to cancel and getting no response. Yeah, I agree, he definitely coulda handled it better (maybe checking into the small unknown vendor before giving them his money) but sometimes charges show up late. In a perfect world, he'd keep track of every expense until it hits, but not many do that. I just do my best to not spend all of my paycheck, which is a lot easier now than when I was 18 or even from last year, considering my paycheck is substantially larger than it was then.

...

You ordered something, and are mad that they processed your order .. so you canceled your ATM card to circumvent paying for what you asked for?

And you're accusing THEM of being unethical?

.. wtf?

You're missing everything here...I ordered something, tried to cancel it and a week later they ship it anyways.

Say what you will, but let me ask you this, have you ever returned something before?

ECKSJAY, are you stalking me? How do you know I like cameras? haha

P.S. The card company told me they tried to make a charge a few days ago but it didn't go through, that's there own fault if my card doesn't work and they ship the product anyways. If I was trying to scam them, I could have gotten them pretty good! They learned a lesson too I would hope. But I'm not trying to scam them and they will get the product back, IF I get it.

You might want to read that first post, he said "after a few days". So if I call Aussie & cancel my locker that is all ready halve way to my house & cancel my credit card & call the BBB, that's OK? I think NOT.

Muddy Beast said:
So I email them the next day after I make the order asking them to cancel it. I got no response so I emailed them again and called twice, both times I called I got an answering machine so I left a message telling them to cancel my order. Well, I call again a few days later...still no answer.

Whatever you say Bob.

I'm not missing a thing. YOU CANCELED YOUR CREDIT CARD TO NOT PAY FOR SOMETHING YOU BOUGHT. It does not matter if you changed your mind after you bought it.

And if you aren't aware, they aren't allowed to process your card until the day they ship - its the law.

You commited fraud. Quit boasting about it.

I've wondered about this from time to time, when you have a debit card and checking account plus overdraft protection exactly what does the overdraft protection mean ? My son got wacked pretty good with OD protection, the way he explained it to me was the OD did him no good whatsoever. They still hit him with a $20 fee for each overage.

IIRC, OD protection doesn't protect you against bank OD fees. It does protect you from the vendor, by making sure they get paid.

Common sense tells me to stay out of this...

Okay "Not so" Silent_Bob is right, he's just a little harsh in the way he is saying it. Okay, really harsh. lol

Fortunately us "old" guys have credit (and cash reserve) so we don't get into messes like this, or at least we don't talk about it when we do.

The guy made a couple of mistakes and hopefully he'll learn from this. It doesn't matter that a gas purchase came in late, it was his/your responsibility to know how much money you have before committing to a purchase.

pretty sad all this arguing and still nothing good to come out of this thread

No good -can- come of this. The guy did something stupid and is whining about it. We've all bought something and changed our minds right away, we've all been overdraft. I can't speak for everyone, but I've never canceled my card to screw the vendor, though. ;)

Um. Yeah.

Who's idea was it to cancel the overdrawn card and get a new one? Yours or the bank's?

Lots of nominations; always a good thing!

:D

I went overdraft 5 times in one week once. Worst part was, the five charges were for under $10 each. $34 fee on each overdraft. Gotta be careful, I literally have $9.12 in teh bank right now.

Suddenly my financial situation doesn't look so bad.

But, anyone stop to think what they would do to avoid another overdraft charge?
I have not personally gotten an over draft ever, I have a LOC tied to my checking so if i were ever close it would just send me a bill.

but, he can send the lights or wires or what ever back, but they won't refund the 20,30 or 40 dollar overdraft.
lets just hope he learned from it.

I learned not to buy from vehiclelight.com
or sell to Muddy_beast (for anything other than cash)
