Never been to Uwharrie despite living in NC my whole life, and I haven't wheeled since I started med school. I'm thinking about heading down there next weekend from Chapel Hill. Anyone gonna be there? Any tips on which trails to run in a lightly modified Cherokee? (4" lift, 33s, open diffs, winch). More interested in trail riding than hitting the hard stuff. Thanks guys.

It is possible that I will be there, if you arent a member of NC4x4 just be aware they are doing a huge trip that weekend.

I've browsed the forums a bit. Is it gonna crowd the place up? We are really just looking to ride around and watch others on the tougher trails/obstacles.

You will be just fine at URE with what ya got i run 5.5 on 33's with opens and i can do every trail there just have to bypass like 2 spots. I recomend all the trails.

stay away from Daniel mainly, you can do most trails there with open diffs until it starts raining. I will be there on the 28th for about an hour or two cruising the easier trails with my Commander on 31x10.50s. Never had it there, but I have taken a bone stock Liberty Limited on easys with no problem and my built CJ7 with lockers and 35s on all trails also with no problem. Get your pass at the Eldorado Outpost, and you will be wheeling in minutes!

can anyone tell me about the Flintrock Shooting Range? I read somewhere that it had been closed (and was still closed, as of 2006, the latest info I could find). Is it open again or still closed?

The rifle side is open, the pistol range was closed because bullets have been known to go past the range into the trails, you are able to shoot pistols on the rifle side though.

My brother and I went 2-3 weeks ago, I did every trail except Kodak, only bypassed it to avoid the wicked line and idiots staring (No offense) did daniel up and down and only had 1 spot that couldve been an issue, but I have a rear locker and 36's, my brother did most everything I did with 33's and open difs, dont go out alone, if your running the trails, have a few with you incase of anything, if a rollover can be prevented it should be so always have straps, tree savers, and whatever else you may need on hand.

found out my old club from Clemson is going that weekend as well, so I'll probably try to meet up with those guys
