"Urban Assault Vehicle" Equippage?

My newspaper today showed more photos of cars (and SUVs) plowing through water during Rita's passage across FL. Naturally, XJ owners have a decent bug-out vehicle to begin with, but suppose you have a stock XJ and want to add a bit of height. "Floatation" tires aren't going to make the vehicle walk on water, so if you just wanted to install tall tires for fording clearance -- would it be better to use "floatation" tires (the 31x10.50/15 series), which are fairly wide, or would it be better to go with a tall, skinny tire (such as perhaps a commercial truck tire)?

There is still stuff submerged in the water so I would think that some foot print is necessary to crawl over it.

personally I'd go for the flotation cuz its not necessarily gonna float over the water... They provide good traction on uncertain surfaces and are designed to "float" over mud and sand.
