upgrading battery cables in PowerRam

Any reason we couldn't daisy chain the + cable from the battery to the starter, then another from the starter to the alt? My bros' doing a frame up on his 91 W150 and has modified/rerouted the harnesses to keep the engine bay as clean as possible. This would save running 2 leads around the entire bay however we're not too sure if we should run the alt thru the starter. any insight appreciated.

It could be done that way - I've seen it done that way from the factory on older vehicles.
