Fork. I hadn't noticed that. Maybe I'll see how the backwards one works on the trail? What a PIA to switch...

I bet Gene would do it for a bottle of Beam.

Early bronco dana 44s are low pinion... is it a narrowed '72-76 truck axle?
im not sure i was told its a hp44 and its from a 70's bronco. comes with both sets of knuckles for the disc and drums.

That looks really sexy!

I like it low, wide and with the biggest tires that can fit!

what year and make are the axles out of?

Axles were out of a late 70s full-size Bronco, IIRC.

Lookin' good Pat.

Yep, 78 or 79 Bronco. Wheel width seems to be just about right. They are really more like a 9" wheel since the outer bead is actually outside the outer lip of the wheel. I like a little sidewall bulge.

For those concerned, the tire has been switched. The Jeep is pretty much ready for the "shake down" run this weekend at Slade.

oh man, what a PITA I bet that took a while.
give us some good pics of the shakedown run!

It was pretty tough. I wasn't sure I was going to get the tire off. Then I threw a third screwdriver into the equation and made it happen.

We usually get some good pics.

Well?

How'd the shakedown go?

It did real well...did pretty much everything I wanted it to do and didn't have any real issues. I need to add some more lift in the back, get some new rear shocks and extend the rear bumpstops further. The front stops just need to be secured better. My front suspension is still driving me nuts. I'm going to try to rebuild some CA joints and maybe figure out a way to keep the drop brackets from popping around. Also need to replace the rockers and plate the frame very soon. Anyway, on to the pics...
