With that said, if Matt doesnt get back in here and start updating his build thread again, I am going to go troll his facebook soon to get things rolling hahah
Troll !
So back on track, and thank you Will...
On the fuel cell, did you leave it up near the B-Pillar? Or move it back?
Fuel cell sits about 6" behind the B-pillar now, just enough room behind it to fit a 35" tire.
Soooo yeah, I ran out of time, parts and money a few days ahead of the race. I also got laid off from work at the end of April so I had a very limited budget once again. Ran out of tubing, plate, cutting wheels and welding consumables all at once as well. I "probably" could have finished it but it would have been cobbled together and that was no race to attempt on something not up to par.
The axles got stuffed full of parts front and rear. Yukon gears, Yukon and Nitro shafts, lincoln locked rear, front is still open at this point. If someone wants to ship me some lockers I still have some advertising space left.
Rear shocks are mounted but I think the axle mounts are to close to the springs. I need to cycle the suspension to know for sure but I think they will get changed.
Seat mounts are almost finished. The seats fit and can be bolted in but I plan on adding some more tube to tie them into the cage a lot more.
Andy kicked in a nice set of cut and shiny as can be silver fenders. If I paint the XJ the same color it WILL be seen from outer space and I can also charge for tanning while on the lake bed.
It will be a little bit before I can get back into the garage to work on it. Besides money, evidently mowing, mulching and trimming do not take care of themselves. That and I'm still cleaning up after the kick ass bonfire we had last weekend.

arty::cheers:
I'll try to get some more pics up in the next few days of some other parts that came in and what got finished. I REALLY need to start painting some tube though. Nothing like living on the humid east coast to screw up bare metal in short order.
Oh and I did steal this from Dave, don't tell !
