Just wanted to throw a feeler out for going to Turkey Bay in the Spring sometime. It's actually open year round, but closes on occasion depending on rain/erosion,etc. It is ran by the USDA Forestry and I THINK has 4k acres, not sure.

Some of you have been there, some haven't I'll warn ya straight up that it's the tightest place to wheel in my travels with all the trees, but that isn't all the terrain.

For LOTS of pics of the terrain, check out www.itsajeep.org and the crew there are great.

Anyway, just a feeler to think about for an informal trip next year.

PS-closest town I know is Cadiz for mapping, but it's further than that down the Trace in LBL, but that gives whoever a general frame of reference for mileage.

I haven't warned them yet(heeheh) but we'll have several people, mainly evil TJ'ers as guides. TONS of camping options or small motels since it would definitely be an overniter or two. It also has a lot of weird gravely hill climbs, mud if you want it, but what's cool, you can avoid most mud there, unlike Haspin or Redbird. Lots of ditchs in the trails to straddle as well or drive around, makes some great photo ops. One trail hill climb as these bowling ball size rocks all over it that are loose, pretty fun. There are some minor places to some rocks too, but nothing too crazy. However, due to bad luck or whatever, it has been eating some D35's lately, but that is very rare there.

Anyway, I'll bring it up with the itsajeep crew and we'll see what sounds good. I would think we should have it post-Winterfest since that is a sanctioned event and don't want any issues for anyone's junk before than.

Possibably doable.
Post up with as much lead time as possible!

Interested. Like previously stated, give as much lead time as possible.

Indy, you have tentitive date yet?

I wheeled out there last april with the Itsajeep crew, great guys, I may be able to take a few guys from my other club down as well.

Well, I definitely want to space it far enough past Winterfest, so perhaps the earliest would be first weekend in April perhaps? Just guessing, etc. I've already hit up my Itsajeep friends and they are for it. I'll start asking the implied trail leaders what looks good for them, etc.

Yeah, Tom and crew are good people. Are you on the board there too?

Okay, I'll get on it and see what the trail leaders think. ALL types of rigs are welcome regardless of build.

With that said, how long after WF do YOU people need to tweak, fix or clean up from WF? Is 2 weeks enough time? That's the earliest I would even think of doing it.

Not a member, just forum user. I have visited the board and retrieved some of the pictures Tom took when "Vug" and I were there last April. Tom and I talked a little about NAXJA and your name came up. He said you were out wheeling there with that group a week or two prior to us.

April will almost garuntee mild weather down there, Last weekend in April first one of May. That will give ample time to fix what broke at WF and tiem for people to gather some money.

I would like to go but am not sure on the viablity yet.
