anyone know where one would come across a place to buy steel tubing in the knoxville area? say some DOM and other related material, plate steel etc etc

The best place to find special tubing would be Specialty Metals off of chapman highway 865-609-1007. You could also try Triple-S steel or Beverley Steel both on Beverley road directly behind East Town mall. The last place would be Knoxville Sheet Metal right off of Middlebrook PK. Those are the only steel supplies I can think of right off hand.

triple S is the best i think. my dad has used them for ever. i dont have the number but you can find it
