Were you running steel or aluminum shims? I am guessing you eaither had aluminum shims and they cracked or you didn't have your u bolts tight enough. Especially since it happend to both sides!

they were steel. i've heard stories B4 about alluminum ones exploding. guess my U-bolts were loose ?

:rattle:

damage update: Took everything apart today to try and band-aid things back together for the work week.....holy crap, what a mess!!!!! both center pins broken, both shims gone, and the small bottom leaf pass side gone!!!!!. Also found that in my rush to duct tape it together for the ride home that i managed to completely chew up a wheel stud and lug nut. stole a leaf from my old stock pack and a cpl new U-bolts and center pins and aside from a lil passenger G-ride lean again, i'm all good to go ! Thanks again for the help and watchfull eyes guys.
Huh...

When, where, what, and how? I knew I left too soon.

I'll try and get my pics up tomorrow, photobucket was being a pill today.

Here's some vid... sorry we didn't take more!!!

Just wondering if anyone got video if Michelle and I doing Firebreak 5... would be cool to have a shot of the Grape going up the first stage ( or any video, frankly!!!)... it was really her first trip of this magnitude, and her kids in Missouri would get a kick out of seeing something like that... if not, cool... we'll get some next time...

Thanks! :wave1: :peace: :music:

P.S. I REALLY wish it had been light enough to video Kara going up Can Openner... I think that would've been THE vid of the weekend... sorry for not getting more video... had I not been so amped to be on the trails, I'd have shot some more... lesson learned: lay-off the frickin' Mt. Dew!!! I was shaking like a whipped dog after coming up Firebreak 5, just from adrenalin!!!

Like everyone has said before, it truly was an awesome weekend. The weather cooperated with us for the most part on Saturday, and did it's usual TSF thing for the rest of the weekend.

I met up with 06Rubi (Dave) in Vancouver on Saturday, and from there we set out for TSF.

After topping off at Gales Creek. $3.99 a gallon was harsh, but I was glad to see I averaged 19.6mpg.

We arrived at camp around 9:45, and began to disco and air down. By 10:30 everyone had arrived and we had 15 Jeeps total, an impressive number. After splitting into two groups we set out for the day.

Jeepboy381 (Josh) playing on Mini Rubicon. It sadly wasn't conquered this weekend.

The first section of Firebreak 5 proved to be a good obstacle for some. Redjeep3 (Nick) coming up. I think having the swaybar disconnected would have made a world of difference.

Leaving his mark.

Continuing up the trail.

At the second section, a few people tried their hand at the rock garden. According to Roger a "bath tub" sized rock was the obstacle to overcome. However, Kara chose a different one. Now thats a real jack stand!

What was the definition of insanity again? Repeating the same behavior but expecting different results. :D

After completing Firebreak 5 the majority of the group headed out for the day, or back to camp. Only those of us hardcore enough stayed to continue on. :laugh3:

Now with a group of 7, we set out for Archers Firebreak. Both Ken and Roger made it up Canopener.

Roger put on a great show with the LTB's clawing their way up. Hopefully someone got it on video.

By that time another group came by to watch, and two rigs decided to tackle it. The first Toyota slammed a tire into the rock, which resulted in his driveshaft coming apart.

The second exo'd Runner eventually made it up, but with some serious abuse done to the front shaft via the large center rock.

Canopener.

JuniorXJ (Terry) later on down the trail.

Waterfall was the last obstacle of the day. Outdoors (Steve) set out first with his fresh 35" Coopers.

He truly couldn't have made it look easier. Not only did he crawl the entire thing, have his front swaybar connected, he also had his front ARB open.

Roger heading up. The ground was a little slick, but proved to have enough traction to get by.

Afterwards, Steve took us back to camp the "back way." That proved to be an adventure by itself :D.

Also, paging KarlVP, while I was airing up at Rogers Camp on Sunday I overheard the Timber Tamers. Something about how they were going to get the Landcrusier back to camp, and being broke down 15 miles east of Lee's Camp? I'm curious what the story was.

All in all, great weekend!
