The wife and I are traveling to Wisconsin over Labor Day weekend, it'll be the first vacation w/out wheeling in a while. HOPE I DON"T GET TOO BOARD. Anyways travelling from KY to WI if anyone is looking for something check my for sale sections. Any special construction Ineed to look out for?

Yah. STAY AWAY FROM CHICAGO. Especially 80/94 east of the IL/IN state line. There's also some construction on I294 (the TriState.)

Your better bet may be to take I39 well west of Chicago and go up through Rockford. Yes, I know, it depends on where in Wisconsin you're heading.

Generally, IL (and IN) are pretty good about not working over holidays, but I wouldn't plan on it.

BTW, best traffic reports I'm aware of are on WBBM AM 780. Check their website for a map of the Chicagoland expressways so you can decode the traffic reports every 10 minutes, start at 8 minutes past the hour.

I 90 between Beloit and Stoughton is occasionaly down to one lane (Both directions), and the occasional shifting lane. Traffic on Fri nights going Westbound and Sunday afternoon/night going Eastbound on I 90 and 94 gets especially heavy.

Where in WI you headed?

Sounds like a good time :) Good time of year to enjoy the area. Did you contact the dept of Tourism or get on their website? If not, it'd be a plan, just incase you get bored camping.

thanks zuki-ron, but I grew up in Adams County and have hit most of the State Parks in Wisconsin, and did quite a bit of travel there up until the age of 16, I am sure I will have something to do.

I do really miss it, but I love the wheeling here in Kentucky...or did so many places are closing down.
