so...I really want to get to work on this J10 project, but with a baby on the way its probably not going to happen this decade. SO here is the low down about the project...
1983 J10 Long box...it was a 4.2L auto 4x4, however i don't have any of the stock drive train anymore. here are some pics when i first bought it...i ran it on the highway for about 3 months before tear down...
it had some minor front end damage
so i got a new hood for it from a wagoneer...
and it got tore down to make way for a diesel transplant
I blasted the frame and repaired the rust holes in the rear and removed the rear spring hangers that had started to rot...
then i repaired the cab floors...
the rockers still need to be fixed as well as some of the other surface rust on the cab but, its in MUCH better shape with the new floors
the bed floor is in pretty good shape, but the sides had some rust, so i bought replacement bedsides from z&m jeeps...here:

they are still sitting in the box waiting to go on...and thats where i got stopped in the project.
i have a set of gm axles (d44 and 14 bolt) that are 8 lug 3.73 gears that i will include with the project...front is bolt on. rear either needs the frame side hangers moved in (stock ones were removed)
i would also consider including and entire powertrain (4.0, aw4, 242) with engine bay wiring harness, ecu, and tcu from a 99 xj that would be a great fit for this truck...especially with 3.73 gears (came with a carbed 4.2 stock and 2.72 gears)
I also have a dash from a wagoneer that has the HVAC and controls to allow you to add a/c to this truck
i would consider selling it, but honestly i will never get what i want so i would rather try to trade it....
what i am looking for:
an MJ with a decent body...interior/drivetrain arent as important. i may wind up swapping the 99 powertrain i have into it...i also have a diesel motor that i am in the process of retrofitting for an mj, so i have some options. you will need a truck or trailer to take this sucker away...if someone is really interested, i may also be persuaded to part with the pieces i have to do the isuzu diesel conversion (motor mounts, adapter, flywheel, tranny and t-case, upgraded turbo...no motor but they are easy to find) however i really want to hold on to these parts for now in case i get the opportunity in the future to actually build the truck that i want...so these parts would take some persuasion to get out of my hands....
