Trac bar question

Would a trac bar from a 98 xj fit on my 88 xj? I picked one up cheap a while ago without checking if it would fit. That is all.

The tapper on the 88 might be drilled deeper than the 98 one. It should fit but might need a washer or two on the stud to get the castle nut to be locked in by the cotter pin.

Thanks for the response. So the only problem I should encounter is just needing to add a couple washers then?
