Anybody know anything about the 01 Ford 7.3? I just bought an F-350 but it dosen't start. All I know is that the compresson is great fuel pressure is right injectors are firing on time (as per professional diagnostic computer) Now for the clues if I crank on it for a coupple of minutes I get white smoke from the exhaust. The big one is the fuel in the coolant. I'm leaning toward injector sleeves, and hoping that the heads arent craked. everithing I have read so far indicates injector sleeves, I just wanted to run it by you guys, maybe someone has had a similar problem.

Thanks,
Neil

I am guessing its the glow plug relay (about $25 to replace). You might also wanna check the connections to the computers under the hood. There are three along the right side if memory serves me right. The one on the firewall is the ECU. Also, when you are cranking it do you get an RPM readout? (That's if you have an RPM gauge) If not then it could be the CPS.

Not all white smoke is an indicator of a blown head gasket (especially in diesels). Could be un-burnt fuel soaking the catalytic converter.

Oh and if u get ballsy and find the glow plugs getting no power.....shoot it with a very small sprAy of starting fluid if it starts right up chances are its a glow plug or relay problem......I know u aren't supposed to but we do it all the time :) fwiw I'm a ford certified power joke tech :)
