TOTW: To Chop or Not?

This was taken last week. Got the exhaust back on now. The totes behind the XJ had the transfer cases of mine and my boys XJ in them. I got mine fixed and back together. Still Waiting on Brown to deliver the parts for my boys case.

I'll be there. Friday, Saturday and playing Sunday by ear. I'm planing on being there early on Friday to get things lined out for Saturday.

Cool I am pretty sure I will be there as long as my wife is feeling better by then.

The only way I'd ever cut more than the fenders on mine would be if I had a good clean way to enclose the cut section. In other words, I LOVE what "Only" has done to his, but I would want to re-sheet and re-glass behind the back seat.

Yeah if I cut mine it will likely be the entire top, with half doors. I would also most likely just cage it, and make some sort of soft top that snaps and velcro's in place. Wouldn't necessarily have to be showroom quality, I just like the idea of being able to close off the interior to the elements when I want to.

I saw that.... it was a decent looking project as well. I just wouldn't bother with it personally. If I cut the top off of my jeep it would pretty much be a trail rig only at that point, unless it was just pretty enough out for me to want to cruise it topless. Just a lot of extra work and expense that wouldn't be necessary IMO.

What about a hardtop convertible? TOI posted someone else's nice build-up on how to do it.

Don't think I ever saw that, but I'm not sure I'd like it. I'm a fan of the SVT look on a Cherokee, but I don't want to turn it into a JK unlimited.

Mine ended up like that after I broke the windows at Gilmer last time out. I was wanting to cut the top any way so the Miss. Told me to go for it. The Temperature inside has dropped a ton sense I've cut it and put a rubber carpet set back in it.
