Tormach PCNC1100 4th axis-RADesigns

How much for a comparable servo machine? $45-50K with less X and Z travel and the same HP. Not sure what the stepper thing is about. You can actually get into this machine for around $12,000-$14,000 pretty easy.

for less than 4k you could have gotten a used american or japanese servo mill with a toolchanger. not that small though, so i guess if space is a huge issue you're kinda stuck.

My buddy has the smaller Tormach, its a great machine, and at a good pricepoint for a smaller CNC. I just converted my Benchtop to CNC, but if I did it over again I would seriously consider the smaller Tormach!
 
i was actually refering to the controller software, not cam software. i use linuxcnc (emc2) on a few machines
