Toe Chain Questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To make a long story short, you get away with it, until you don´t get away with it. I´ve got 8-9 dimples in my hood, 6-5 in the roof, don´t know how it missed the windshield or my son standing off to one side watching. Hanging a blanket over the chain, didn´t slow it down a lick.
Guess I´m one of the dummies that only learns the hard way. Been using that chain for 20 years, it´s retired now.

:hang: I found a 18' chain out back beside my home and it weighs a good 35lbs.
does anyone know if this chain would be usable for Xj off-roading????:exclamati

No, use a strap. chains are not designed for "shock loads" involved with recovery.

Tow chains are for towing, not for yanking. Get a strap, leave the chain behind the shed.

Ty guys, the old chain it self is used only for removing logs and debries from the trail behind my road.....but this new chain i found looks good, but ummm about them straps.....what should they be able to withstand?

20-30,000lbs and they should have loops on both ends, NO HOOKS.
