To the Jackasses wheeling IN Neshaminy Creek last night around 6PM

Welcome to PA. There are plenty of idiots who don't care what they do or harm in the process. They go along with the high teenage birthrate in NEPA where I lived for around 8 years. If given the chance they would probably wheel thru a graveyard for fun.

Welcome to PA is right.. :-(
A good friend of mine, owns 26 acres of wooded land with his house about a mile from my house. its all set in behind a semi-developed neighborhood. He heard noises coming from his woods and went back to investigate, there were 4 or 5 four wheelers and dirt bikes making a track in his land. he has never been the type to put up posted signs or fences, but he is now concerned that these people will get hurt and sue him for allowing them there.
He asks them to leave and never come back... several times...
They came back.
So he goes and puts up posted signs, and puts trees across the access trail they had made...
They came to his house, knocked on his door and told him that he needs to move the stuff, because "no one owns the woods" and "its their trail, because they made it"
Now imagine a 55 year old man explaining to a 42ish year old man, that he does indeed own the woods, and that he does not want him, or his children riding their ATV's in the woods.
... still has problems with it.. if he goes away for too long they go up and ride... they destroyed all the ground cover, and the dirt has begun to erode down the hill and is filling his pond with sediment...
so now he has to put up silt fence to keep the sediment out of the pond because he can't keep the douche bags off his land.:flame:

Im sorry...but some people are just so ignorant, that you really gotta just abandon all hope of reasoning with them and just take drastic measures.

Dont call the cops... drive over to the courthouse or township building and talk to someone high up. Not just a street cop. File paper work. If you know the names of the people...drop the names. Give details about the quads/bikes/jeeps.

If nothing is done...you gotta make it so they dont want to ride there anymore. Im not saying to hurt people.... But if you gotta put up fences, keep blocking trails, then do what you gotta do.

I had to deal with dirt bikes tearing up my back yard awhile back. I had a four wheeler, and I guess they saw me putzing around on it, and decided they could come over. Which I was fine with, until they started rutting up and just being obnoxious. I had to get REALLY nasty with them...and their parents before they got the point.

I hate stupid people.

J.

Post up a couple of the famous "trespassers will be shot" signs. The next time he hears them up there, fire a few shots into the ground to give them something to think about.

Good idea, you'll get the cops for sure on that one, and the 4 wheelers most likely wont be the ones getting shit on by the cops!

yeah, you know the area though... it takes 20 minutes for local cops to show...

I can't speak for him, but I Know that he has to drive past these peoples houses when he comes down his driveway. And, he's not very confrontational to begin with.
But the bottom line is that people just don't have respect for property that does not belong to them.

The thought "no one owns the woods" ... what are you, a Native American from the 1800's? no no product of the public school system! :viking:

Hey, I never said it was the best idea, just my idea.

:D

Then again, I guess it would cause more harm than anything if the jackasses live right nextdoor.

Oh I know the area and the attitude. Its definately a PA thing. I bought a roof rack off some bonehead who was bragging about how he lost his license from being caught 'night wheeling' up near neshaminy mall somewhere one too many times.

And the bad part about wanting to wheel around here IS the fact that EVERYONE owns the damn woods. So its not even really a consideration of 'hey thats just open land' its all owned by someone!!

I was trying to get in with the park service to see if they have any fire roads or anything over in FC state park that I could drive. and they were really rude about saying no...
There is no room in this area for even responsible wheeling.
I have to go to Rausch, or my family's cabin in clearfield county to wheel. where the national forest is more friendly to OHV's...

Yeah...there's one sorta fire road off of route 345...I think it's called Green road. It's not too exciting though, just a dirt road with some puddles. There used to be a place in Spring City a couple years ago to go wheeling. I think it was an industrial park that never got built or something, just a few mud pits and hillclimbs and stuff...but then people started going back there and having parties and doing drugs and it got chained off...always a few idiots to ruin it for everyone else.
