From what I have read I can use TJ coil springs in place of XJ. I will just loose about an inch of lift. So if I use some 4.5 RE springs made for a TJ they should give me about 3.5 of lift on my XJ. Am I right about this?

Not necessarily- you need to keep in mind the weight of the vehicle for which they're intended. A TJ is notably heavier than a XJ so the springs will need to be stronger, so you may get 3.5" of lift or you may get more.

That's all in theory,though- maybe someone here has tried it.

Why not just find some XJ springs?

Good point, but I am trying to go cheap and found the TJ springs from a private seller and they are considerably cheaper than buying new. Thanks for the reply though.
