TJ mirrors on xj

that seems easiest bolting it to the fender.. but looks kind of ugly. I was thinking of something in the stock location. ditch the stock tj bracket and fab a new bracket that will fit in the stock mirror location. Not sure if that would make the mirror too high. perhaps just use the mirro and ditch both the arm and bracket? what do you guys think?

I could be wrong but I think the mirrors off of the 97+ fit in the stock location for the older models. I might be wrong...

you could definitley cut the arm at the bend and then attach that to a plate that bolted in the stock mirrors place. or fabricate a new arm that fits to the bottom of the new mirror. it would bring it in a few inches and would compensate for the loss of height when cutting the arm or fabbing a short one.... it could happen :)

jeepdeepfreak, the mirrors you have on your jeep look better than how they're mounted on the aj's rig. is there anyway you could take some more pictures of your mirror, maybe a post-writeup? looks good

They are easy to mount using hex head bolts on the outside and nuts on the inside of the door using a backing plate.Just mark and drill three holes in the door and fabricate the backing plate for the inside of the door, drill three holes in the plate insert the hex heads through the mirror, door and plate then use nuts to secure it on the inside of the door.

They are mounted in the same spot as aj'sThis offers the best view and allows the vent wing to be opened.I thought of doing a write up when I mounted the drivers side and still might do a write up on the pass side(only have the drivers on now) when I can find a good deal on one.I'll try to take a few pics after I get my rattle can rustoleum hammered paint job done.

No i have a 99, but i had and 88 before this one and the newer mirrors are much better, they are larger and they fold in, not all of the older ones did. it will look stock and make your jeep look newer.
