Tire slime

anyone ever use it in radials? i've used it in farm applications (usually bias front tractor tires that never see speeds above 25mph) and am wondering how it'll run in my radials on my jeep.

Man, if you use the stuff you better find a couple of 'out of town' tire shops if you need to have any tire work done after you put that crap in there cause you will make a lifetime enemy of any tire shops you have a relationship with...

im not shure i wouldnt use it on any thing but a trail only rig. a friend of mine used some on his atv tires once and promptly got it out clamed it threw the tire out of balance but i also hade a highschool teacher that would have filled his tires full of the stuff if he though he could get away with it.

Yea;... I had the same question in mind. I have two tires that need air every week. I will replace them in a month or two and just something to carry me over.

well if i did do it and needed professional tire work (done my fair share with hand tools) i'd pop the tire off and clean it up just so i could use that shop again... other than that i was thinking maybe getting the tires filled with foam, i know of one shop that does it but i dont want to get that drastic.

I would try to find the hole and plug it. I used tire slime when I had 31's on my XJ, and it threw it WAY out of balance. The tire was on the front drivers side, it shook so bad I had to move it to the rear passenger, helped, but still shook like hell. Glad I got 33s now with no slime and no shaking!

no hole... i was gonna use it as a preventative measure so to speak... but if it vibrated badly on you ill just carry an extra plug kit or two next time im in the woods.

I don't think you should even consider foam filling your tires unless you have a fork truck to pick them up after. It weighs a ton. A 31" tire filled with foam is alot of foam, I would guess it to probably weigh somewhere around 200lbs per tire, forget trying to balance that.

I've used the slime in motorcycle tires with no ill effects up past 100mph. Makes a mess at tire change time tho. The green stuff isn't dangerous just messy. Some of the others are explosive.
