I found a good lift the Rubicon Express for XJ's. It comes with front coil spring spacers, shocks, rear add-a-leafs, and rear brake line. I know I am gonna put some better tires on there but is there anything else I am going to need to do this? I already have tools and a place to do it but will i need any other critical parts?

if your buying a kit from them...you shouldn't need much else.

what year XJ and what size lift? you may need a SYE or t-case drop...

01 XJ Classic. 2 inch lift. Yea its not much but i do not want to get in over my head on a lift... literally. I am only 5'4

well crap. haha just playing. A friend of mine who is really good with cars is gonna help me and he has allthe tools for it so I am pretty sure we will be able to figure it out, Now i am not sure on the tire thing, Will i have to upgrade the stocks to a beefier 30x9.5?

Depending on how your going to use it. If your going to get out there and use it like a Jeep, you may need to make sure you have enough front brake lines. The stock lines can be remounted and the hard lines straightened to give serveral more inches. Another thing to look at if your wheelin' it, would be the shocks.

Also, if not included in the kit you may have to put on a t-case drop. But maybe not at only 2" depends on if there are any driveshaft viberations.

Good luck

the RE 2" packages ive seen all come with shocks. so he shouldnt have a problem there. You wont need the SYE or t-case drop yet either. everyone i've talked to says that its when you get up to about 3.5" or 4"'s of lift.

I did a 1.5" lift on mine and fit 30" x 9.5" no prob. If you have to $ to get some all terrains i would do it. I got procomp muds and i love how they perform on the trail, but the noise is alittle loud otherwise. If you wana wait about 9 months ill sell you my procomps b/cuz im plannin on doin the RE 5.5" LA kit and getting 33's.

Not true... especially with the 97+. I did 2" with my 99 and got a good amount of DV until I droped the t-case

I have been doing some research on lift kits for my 97, and I have been told with a 3" lift, a t-case and axle shims would take care of any vibrations (if I have any).
