The Xjs getting 42in TSLs.

If you are refering to the 14's, its only a 30 big spline and not 33 spline with different pressure angle then the 70's. The shaft is still 1.5".

You're going to run 42's on a 30 spline 14bolt? Is that wise?

Looks good, i personally would not have ditched the D70 because with the 14B your gering is limited to 5.13 as lowest you can go. I have now 5.86 in my 60/70 combo with 39.5 Boggers and plain love it. I will go down to 7.17 once i switch to 44s (gears are already bought)

By going this low i make sure i will NOT break expensive stuff like t-case or tranny. :eyes:

I figured so, i want to someday do full sixe axles and 38's, SOMEDAY, but keep the I6 and probably stroker it. Its just right now im saving for a much larger and smarter investment so the Jeep is fine on 35's. Instead of sugar plums i have visions of 44's dance in my head.

have you seen a 14bolt shaft? diameter at the splines is 1.59", shaft diameter is 1.351", by the flange - 1.458".

Ya, but even my 8.8 has 31 splines with 1.32" shaft. :) I'm running that on 32's, hehe.

I'm no expert though, I wanta say your rig is awesome, and I'm jeluous of the cage, box work on the frame, and of course the big meats.

But we just had a so-cal guy break a Dana 60 shaft with 40" MT/R's on his first real run out with it. Just took a little (ok maybe more then a little) pedal, and one tire being jammed up against a rock face. It was a 30 spline shaft though. I was pretty sure it was a 1.5" shaft too, but maybe I'm wrong.

you are wrong. 30 spl d60s are 1.3 something inches. they are about the same size as a 44, but the ff is nice.
just running a regular d60 without 35spl shafts is a waste imo.

I thought so. Ya, I remember someone mentioning my 8.8 shafts were stronger then his 60 shafts. I didn't think they were 1.5". He was running 40's, I was rollin on 32's hehe.

He has since gone to 1.5" shafts.
