In building my XJ, I have come across a stunning clone of my build. The rough country header xj. Its a pretty simple set up but looks like I have the same lift, black widow rims, tinted windows etc.... But I like the look of the smoked signals and markers in the front.

Would the closest you guys have seen be these ebay lenses? I semi hate to go with the chinese quality 15 dollars for the product and 45 to ship, or $60 with free shipping( why do they do that marketing scheme lol) but these are all I can find with out vht-ing my amber lenses.

i have seen em and had the clear outs at one point in time they are kind of brittle but ok

VHT and call it done - you have 55 dollars left over to put towards something cool

Eh, VHT will still leave you with a dark, smokey yellow shade. Cost effective, but if you are going through the effort, might as well go big or go home.

As you can see, there is still a hint of amber in the lenses, which is what i expected. But if you want the all black/grey look, buy some new ones.

Or get a set of clears and VHT those. Might still come out ahead, though I have to wonder if it is worth the time involved.

Well you can easily do the VHT in an afternoon. Plus if you buy new ones, you dont have to take them off of your jeep to spray them in the first place. Very do-able.

That's one of the Rough Country guys who posted right before you- and the clears I bought from ebay were Depo- the same brand Rugged Ridge/Omix was using for OE replacements. I'm on my second set (hit a deer this spring), and aside from the logo, they are virtually identical to my stock lights.

That's one thing I don't get about folks around here- if it's cheap and on ebay, it's trash. Slap a different sticker on it, double the price, and suddenly it's a quality item. I don't buy into that school of thought.

x2

There is lots of quality items on ebay, there are lots of not so quality items on ebay. But the same applies for the rest of the world as well.

it's a judge free zone till your girlfriend gets mad at you for spending that much cash, then we will deny that we told you to buy them, that we even know you, and perhaps your very existence.
