Temp sensor, overhead console

Found this the other day while trying to figure out how to get my bumper straight.

Is this the sensor that goes into an overhead console, and this bumper end plugs into the temp reader part?

If so, would I find the plug in for the overhead console in the passenger side kick panel?

Was it located about center of the bumper area? If so that is probably it. Or it could be a plug for the fog lights.

Ya it is just to the left of the center of the bumper.

It could be for the fogs though... I have an overhead console from an earlier Cherokee and the temp sensor for that, and checked the plug. The older plug is a two plug and wouldn't fit on this one.

So they either changed temp sensor plugs in 97 or it is indeed for fogs.

My Jeep is a 97, UpCountry, Country trim... I guess that might help in deciphering what this is.

I would say that is for the upper console temp sensor. The fog wires and plugs come out more towards the corners. The plugs will be different from 97+ to 96-

I don't think a 97+ that wasn't built with fogs, will have the wiring for them up front. They will have a plug for the temp sensor though.
