tcase leak

Ok I just replaced the rear seal on my NP231 (newer sealed style) and it is still leaking. It seems to be leaking from the inner part of the seal. I rtv'ed the outer part of the seal before putting it in. Any thoughts?

are you sure it is leaking from the seal. it may appear to be but it could be the yoke itself.

its the rear output seal.... where the output shaft exits. I have no yoke enterering the tcase because it is the newer type.

possibly damaged the seal on install.

ok, well then any tricks to not damaging a new one as i put it in? Also, Is the metal cover that was pressed over the origional seal needed?
