SYE cost

What year is yours? I know RE lists different parts for the different year, because you said you used a Spicer 211229x, does that mean that you have the earlier years and used the wrong year RE kit?

Also want to help :) jk.

I have a 1998 with 242 transfer case. The RE HnT requires the 211229x flange regardless of which year it is for.

tj20404 you can use a auto front XJ driveshaft as you have both a auto AND a 8.25.

Dont know what is so confusing. If you have EITHER a manual OR a D35 you CANNOT run a auto front XJ shaft safely.

alright so I just need a front DS from an automatic XJ that is the appropriate length as there are a few lengths... but most likely it will end up being about 30 inches.

Check out this link to Old Man's SYE page, he gives you everything you need to know to do it yourself and do it cheap as possible. Hope this helps-Kelvin

My SYE setup is for the earlier tcase design, not the newer one. RE has a similar setup for the newer case for quite reasonable. I actually use their flange in my design.

Be sure it's a 4.0.

alright, sounds good... So I will still have to measure to make sure, right? How many different lengths out there can I choose from... I mean, that link only showed one US Cherokee that had an automatic 4.0L, so from that I would take it there is only one length?

Oh, and I've seen stuff about people having to cut the driveshaft to make it longer... I wouldn't have to do that would I? It's just a straight bolt up isn't it?
