supercharger

There will likely be a clearance issue - since the Kenne Bell kit comes with a 1" body lift. I'm wanting to think that there is a little more clearance between the intake and the hood on the TJ than there is on the XJ, so there's going to be an issue there. You'll need either hood spacers or a hood scoop, since they mount the blower directly on top of the intake (unless we find a way to adapt a side-mount to the intake...)

I'm thinking about setting up a blower on my 87, when I start restomodding it - which will probably require altering quite a few things, and maybe fabbing up a new intake to boot! Good thing forced induction is a little more tolerant of runner lengths than natural aspiration...

loosk awesome. But I think you'd have to cut the hood to make it fit.
5-90 beat me to it.

but in theroy it should fit the engine right.

Pay attention to the XJ and MJ on their main page for some idea of the hood clearance issue. In terms of purely being able to install it to the engine, yes, that's doable.

never heard of avengersuperchargers but that sh*t sticks out hella far.
On their website they have a clever solution:

The opening on the hood works perfectly with the disconnected snorkel...

Eventually, I'd like to see about tilting a Whipple on its side, and coming up with an intake manifold that will allow it to be mounted that way. Bost Roots/screw-type blowers will work just fine on their sides - it just becomes a mounting issue.

I'll have to work on it.
